North Coast Salon Systems is a family-owned distributor based in Cleveland, Ohio. We've been serving licensed cosmetologists and barbers since 1972. We respect your privacy and we keep the information we collect limited to what we genuinely need to run the business and serve you well.

This policy explains what we collect when you visit our website or place an order, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

What we collect

When you create an account, place an order, or apply for a pro account, we collect:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and shipping address
  • Your billing information (handled by our payment processor — see below — we don't store full card numbers ourselves)
  • For pro account verification: your cosmetology or barber license number, the state that issued it, and your salon or business name
  • Your order history with us

When you visit our site, we automatically collect:

  • Browser type, device, and operating system
  • The pages you visit, the products you view, and how long you spend on each
  • Your approximate location, based on IP address
  • The site or link that referred you to us (Google, Instagram, an email link, etc.)

How we use it

We use this information to:

  • Verify pro accounts and apply pro pricing
  • Process and ship your orders
  • Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and account notifications
  • Respond to questions you send us
  • Send marketing emails — only if you opted in, and you can unsubscribe any time
  • Improve the site, fix problems, and understand which products our pros want

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar tools to keep your cart working, keep you logged in, and understand site traffic. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

Who we share with

We share information only with the partners we need to run the business:

  • Shopify — our e-commerce platform, which hosts the site and processes payments
  • Payment processors — Shopify Payments, PayPal, and any processor we use at checkout — handle your card data directly under their own privacy policies
  • Shipping carriers — USPS and UPS — to deliver your orders
  • Email tools — to send order confirmations and (if you opted in) marketing emails
  • Analytics tools — to understand site usage in aggregate
  • Government or law enforcement — only if we are legally required

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your license number outside what's needed to verify it.

How we keep it safe

We use Shopify's secure hosting, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and limit internal access to staff who need it. No system is 100% secure, but we treat your information like we'd want ours treated.

Your rights

EU and UK visitors (GDPR / UK GDPR): You can ask us what data we have on you, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, take it elsewhere (data portability), or object to certain uses. To exercise any of these rights, email info@northcoastsalonsystems.com. We respond within 30 days.

California residents (CCPA / CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, email us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

To verify a request, we may ask you to confirm your email and recent order details so we know we're acting on instructions from the right person.

Children

This site is built for licensed beauty professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the date below. Material changes will be announced via email to active customers.
